An advisor will put your needs first, focusing on the issues affecting your life and/or studying. Contact YSS on 01252 407147.
LGBT Group
If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, or you are confused about your sexuality, we have a group where you can meet other LGBT students and gain support. For further information please email counselling@farn-ct.ac.uk.
Counselling
Every student at the College on a full-time or part-time course can use the free and confidential Counselling Service. Counselling is what students want it to be – a place to offload when they are worried, anxious or in a crisis, or a place to explore changes and decisions they want to make about their lives. Students can attend once, or have further sessions if they wish.
The Counselling Service is based in O Block, room O10, and a College Counsellor is available Tuesday to Thursday from 9.00 to 17.00. You can make an appointment by phoning 01252 407069 – you may have to leave a contact telephone number on the voicemail. Alternatively, you can visit O10 to make an appointment or email counselling@farn-ct.ac.uk. Further information can also be found on the intranet.
Student Health Advisor
If you have any health-related needs, our Student Health Advisor offers advice and guidance. She is a qualified nurse and is available to all students. Contact 01252 407067.
Student Retention
Our Student Support Team is available to support FE students aged between 16 and 19 for whom regular attendance is a difficulty. They are on hand to point you in the right direction should you encounter any problems which impede your learning experience. We all have problems from time to time - what matters is how we tackle them and make a positive difference to our lives. Contact 01252 407394.
